Honoring the Fidelity of Our Truth.

Shunryu Suzuki Roshi wrote that our true being comes from nothingness, moment after moment. And, that from this nothingness everything appears. It is the source and substance of our living joy, effected through promises not yet told.

In order to live our truth, we must be willing to stand boldly beside it – honoring both its place and impermanence. Our practice is to ‘go beyond’ – to embrace the challenge of our buddhanature.

Eventually our sadness breaks, and the light returns. And, we realize that there conditions of our happiness were already in hand. Even hopelessness and rage have their place, in the widening of our view and the steadying of pace.

“Many sensations come, many thoughts or images arise,” he shares. “but they are just waves of your own mind. Nothing comes from outside your mind…You yourself make the waves in your mind.”

No matter our path – the fidelity of our truth, our joy, is always there. Go beyond, my friends – accept the privilege of this sacred invitation. In this way, all of life becomes our practice.

In peace, and with much love…
