To Be Both Everything and Nothing at All.

The great Indian teacher Nisargadatta Maharaj once said, “Wisdom tells me I am nothing. Love tells me I am everything. And, in between the two my life flows.”

I’ve often reflected on these words, my darlings. Particularly, in those moments when I’ve felt a little ‘disconnected’ from self; where flurried thoughts have left me tumbling forward into the depths of my own self-doubt.

“Wisdom tells me I am nothing.”

That is to say, it’s often these preconceived notions of ‘self’ – that end up keeping us furthest away.

Furthest away from our understanding…

Furthest away from our connection…

Furthest away from our own internal bliss.

My darlings, when we perceive ourselves as ‘separate’, we introduce a rather slippery slope into our path. This duality of me versus we; of us versus them…with every single thought of distinction, we reinforce this shell of ego.

Is it any wonder why there is so much loneliness in this world?

“Love tells me I am everything” – reinforcing the true nature of our interconnectedness, a ‘sense of unity beyond our suffering.’ To find the path to genuine compassion.

My darlings, we are everything – and yet, nothing at all. Connected beyond all measure of the word – within this space where our lives may flow.
