The Context of Our Humanity.

I’m often amazed at the amount of effort is expended in ‘righting’ one’s heart. That is to say, creating balance within a state of perpetual motion – the constant battle between complacency and fear.

Fear does not allow tenderness to enter near. Rather, it reinforces an already toughened armor making it impossible to remain fully open. Likewise, it impedes our ability to connect with this moment – without which, we can not begin to explore the context of our own humanity.

Yes, we all feel fear from time to time but it does not define our conduct or action. And, like many emotions its presence is passing. The wave rises from the ocean’s floor, yet continuously recedes. It is complex and strong as it retains its fluidity.

When we remain in touch with our basic goodness – when we are able to be without losing our ‘footing’ – this is the first step in the preservation of our inner freedom.

In peace, my sweet friends…
