A Truth in Uncertain Times.

I had a surprise waiting for me when I returned home the other day. My son, who’d been gone on an extended stay, was waiting to sweep me into his arms.

I haven’t seen him in nearly 2 years, you see. Truth be told, and if we’re counting I’d say – it was closer to 1 year, 11 months and 29 days.

The life of a mother isn’t easy, as you may know. Though, to be the Mom of a child often placed in harms way – is a life that is, at times, difficult to bear.

These are such uncertain times, my loves. With bombs exploding in ‘houses of God’ and little ones knowing the designations of guns, my darlings – what does this say of our earth?

We are one human family, after all – and this hurt? My darlings, it belongs to us all.

And though, our instinct may be to recoil in fear – this is the moment we are needed most of all.

To share our hearts with those in need; to ease suffering in spite of circumstance or labels. To hold the heart of another as gently as we would our own.

Someone once asked me why I write every day, sacrificing what they felt to be more substantial opportunity.

I answered simply, “because this earth needs our love.”

I’ve never wavered, not one bit. Not even when my own flesh and blood was placed into the center of harms way.

Why?

Because this human family very much needs our love. And, it our obligation each and every day to ensure love’s safe passage in.

My darlings, it’s time to welcome faith with open arms. To greet each stranger with the warmth of ‘old friend’, to help ease this suffering throughout.

“Whether one believes in religion or not,” writes His Holiness the Dalai Lama “there is no one who does not appreciate love and compassion.”

My darlings, in order for their to be peace on this earth – there must first be peace within our hearts. And that’s a difficult proposition in these uncertain times.

But, I promise you it is always there, my loves – a compassion comprised of all the faith in this world.

“It is not enough,” he continues “to make noisy calls to halt moral degeneration; we must do something about it…We must set an example by our own practice.”

My darlings, let your life serve as the example to all – even in those more difficult times.

It’s something that I choose to do everyday, even when facing the burden of my own pain.

Why?

Because, this world very much needs our love.

In peace, love and equanimity, my friends – on this day, I bask in the warmth of your light.

Namaste ❤️
