The roses shared their final gift today – lovingly crafted against the paling greens; and capturing so brilliantly that first hint of day.
She greeted me along the stone garden path, her smile – glistening – so proud to have survived these rains.
And though she may be leaving soon, in my heart…there’ll always be the memory of her bloom.
“As all must be,’ I said within my heart,
Whether they work together or apart.’
But as I said it, swift there passed me by
On noiseless wing a ‘wildered butterfly,
Seeking with memories grown dim o’er night
Some resting flower of yesterday’s delight…
The butterfly and I had lit upon,
Nevertheless, a message from the dawn”
