A Question of What If.

I was watching the news yesterday evening – listening, really, as ‘background noise’ as I readied my posts for the day.

I don’t really like listening to the news, as…it seems the focus is much more on destruction than that of the real need in this world today.

Day after day, images of devastation caused by the hands of man – litter our network stations, and all fine fodder for this ratings machine.

But, what if our view of this world were just different?

What if, instead of broadcasting these tales of such terror – we highlighted the good, instead?

In which the horrors of war were replaced by images of justice, and the cries of those suffering answered with immediate relief?

Where men with big dreams, were given the platform to speak – and the children of the night, ensured a warm place to sleep?

Can you imagine the difference it might make? If we were to secure this growing patch for good?

Where the message of hope was steeped in every moment of each day, and the hand of compassion never beyond reach.

My dears, what is it that we’re really waiting for?

Is it really a question of ‘what if‘ and not ‘when‘ – that we lend our hearts to service, and help our fellow man?
