Why We Must Let Go of Fear.

[blockquote source=”C. Joy Bell”]The day I understood everything, was the day I stopped trying to figure everything out. The day I knew peace was the day I let everything go.[/blockquote]

“Be one until you are one with love.”

Never before had words flowed as easily from these humble fingers, and on a day when perhaps they were needed most of all.

I had written them in modest letters against the bathroom mirror, and intended to be the very first words viewed upon awakening. And, as I wiped the steam gathering between these proudly formed letters, I wondered curiously – just what did it mean?

Words find me quite unexpectedly, at times…jostling about, hurriedly, like strangers on the street…intent on sharing the message of their mission.

And, though, at times they can seem such an unpleasant intrusion – as, always…I am so ever grateful. Words don’t ever find me without a much greater meaning.

And, though at the time I hadn’t any idea of their meaning – in time, I grew to appreciate the true depth of their purpose.

My dears, it’s been quite a year, now hasn’t it?In the span of just a very few short months, so many ‘much bigger’ things have changed.

Wars have been won, and lost…

Hearts broken, and made whole, once again..

While Faith is held, nearly threadbare, between our fingertips…and fear becomes, inadvertently, our reference point.

We fear losing something… some bit of ourselves in this process;

We fear being left so inexplicably alone…

We fear the darkness of not ever having found our way through…

We fear the pain that may become far too much for one heart to bear…and the gnawing pangs of unsettledness…

But, perhaps that which we fear most is the letting go?

My dears, change is ever present – it can not be avoided. It is as much a part of this life, as the very air that we breathe.

And yet, still we struggle…to find stability in a ground that is continuously shifting beneath our feet.

We become so obsessed with the balancing, that we tighten our grips instead of letting go.

That’s the trick now, isn’t it? To be able to honor change, without having to make such a very big deal over it.

And maybe, in letting go – you might just find, there’s a lot more interesting things going on.

Much love, and many blessings my dears…and just for today, try to loosen up on that ‘clinging to fear.’
