Looking Outward From Life’s Open Window.

“The pale stars were sliding into their places. The whispering of the leaves was almost hushed. All about them it was still and shadowy and sweet. It was that wonderful moment when, for lack of a visible horizon, the not yet darkened world seems infinitely greater—a moment when anything can happen, anything be believed in.” ~ Olivia Howard Dunbar,

There is nothing quite like sitting alongside an open window as the night air begins to settle itself in…

Nor, to listen in to the cricket’s rich crescendo as they make ready for their evening symphony.

Or, to savor the sweetness of freshly cut grass as the misty dew collects along the length of its edges.

No, there is nothing quite like this…a velvet sky…coming alive, as a million points of reveal that which “may not bless my waking eyes.”

My dears, this is the true beauty of the night…and the miracle of simply looking outward from life’s ‘open window.’
