This Constancy of Change.

Was it Gandhi who spoke of his commitment to truth over consistency? And, lending to this constancy of change – his faith, that we exist beyond these boundaries of mind.

Though, for most, they fear a loss of control and the inevitability of reconciliation. Tumbling blindly forward, they reach for that which is known – the stability of their past experience, however painful. Even as their hands become bloodied through the ‘thorniness’ of their clinging.

But what do they truly fear?

Is it their capacity to rise above? Their ability to adapt to change? Or, do they fear the truth in their transformation?

In other words, are we fearful of the change or fearful of what might be revealed?

My goodness, can you just imagine if the lilac tree held her bloom? Worried that their ‘crushing weight’ might be just too much for her branches to hold.

Wouldn’t the summer miss her sweetness? And the moonlight, the outline of her shadows?

Having said that, perhaps the question becomes – are we bound by our fears or liberated by this constancy of change?

A little something to consider, my loves…

What Is Your Message?

I’ve often wondered the purpose of our being. What is it that compels intellect, empathy…awareness? Why are we gifting this blessing of ‘knowing’?

There’s a story I quite like shared of civil rights activist Mahatma Gandhi. A journalist pursued him through a crowded train station, eager for a story. Despite his pleadings, Gandhi politely refused.

Finally, as the train was pulling away the journalist called out from the platform; “Sir! Sir! Tell me your message for the people.”

With unassuming smile, Gandhi shouted his reply;

“My life is my message.”

Gandhi’s life message was that of peace; inspiring the entirety of a nation to respond through non-violent means.

In many ways, the actions of our lives serve as testimony to purpose – bearing ardent witness to the truth that lies within.

My darlings, each day we are gifted this opportunity — to allow the actions of moment to ‘speak’ on behalf of our words.

And, knowing – “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

A little something to consider, my loves ~ and, if I may ask…how will your actions today demonstrate your hopes for tomorrow?

In peace…

The Power of Belief.

I am inspired today by the words of Mahatma Gandhi, revered the world over for his philosophy of non violence.

“The difference between what we do,” he once offered. “and what we are capable of doing would solve most the world’s problems.”

Indeed, and such a vital distinction. That is to say, in life – within each moment – we are presented with the means to make a change.

“You must not lose faith in humanity,” he urged. Bit by bit, and drop by drop – our life becomes our message.

And what a lovely message it has the potential to be.

Through our actions, my darlings – we can help to reshape this world. We can bring care to those who are lacking, and love to those most in need.

Our hearts can most certainly make a difference, my loves – and, all we ever really need to do is believe. Belief has the capacity to release us from ‘smallness’; to transcend hopelessness…and help us to become a guardian for peace.

The image below is that of an impoverished child in sub-Saharan Africa, enjoying the ‘miracle’ of clean water for the very first time. It was a project organized and funded primarily by middle school children.

And showing, so very clearly, the collective power of conviction.

My darlings, when we belief – we take action; and, when we take action, we can save this world.

Namaste, and much love on this day ~ <3
