The Hope Within These Newfound Wings.

I remember once as a little girl chasing a butterfly near the river’s edge. It’s wings were dipped in an iridescent blue, with orange speckled dots and pristine white dashes.

I’d followed it for the better portion of an hour, but as it stopped to rest I became frozen in my approach. I didn’t want to *capture* the butterfly, I wanted to be part of its dance. To dash boldly against a summer sky, taking refuge inside a cluster of pink snapdragon blossoms.

You can only chase a butterfly for so long before it’s truth becomes known. Living just a few short weeks on this giant, spinning globe, it suffers neither sadness nor remorse – greeting each new day with reverence for all moments.

Author, Karen Kingsbury writes:

“I tell of hearts and souls and dances…
Butterflies and second chances;
Desperate ones and dreamers bound,
Seeking life from barren ground,
Who suffer on in earthly fate
The bitter pain of agony hate,
Might but they stop and here forgive
Would break the bonds to breathe and live
And find that God in goodness brings
A chance for change, the hope of wings
To rest in Him, and self to die
And so become a butterfly.”

And so, a much needed wish for today, my friends – that each of us might soon find, a newfound hope in life’s ‘butterfly wings.’

In peace…

Namaste ❤️
