Upon This Light, the Shadows Play.

It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of our circumstances. Looking out into the world, we see violence, racism and intolerance manifested through the frenetic pace of societal misgivings.

We want so badly to be shown a ‘sign’, an indication of man’s redemption – though sadly, the news seems apathetic. Reporters crowd the ‘story du jour’ – wars raging, children fleeing – meanwhile, when does it end?

They want ratings, we want peace – each seemingly in direct conflict, yet still – are we not part of the same?

Even at its ‘worst’, this fabric connects; it binds our sentiment to greater good. And, perhaps to draw our awareness nearer?

The shadows and light shall always interplay, in order to yield the truer depths of our vision.

In peace…
