This Calm and Unyielding Heart.

“We can make our minds so like still water,” writes William Butler Yeats, “that beings gather around us that they may see; it may be, their own images, and so live for a moment with a clearer, perhaps even with a fiercer life because of our quiet.”

These words came to mind this morning as I walked along the trail; stopping for just a moment to admire a patch of crystalline water – evidence of a rain left behind.

At times, we find ourselves lost within a bigger way of thinking. We may feel a sense of solitude, though quickly fleeting – as the tempo of life compels the complexity of an inward distraction.

Until we discover these moments of clarity, in which the vulnerability of letting go provides this basis of peace.

“…and so live for a moment with a clearer, perhaps even with a fiercer life because of our quiet.”

We find ourselves in fleeting glimpses; a pause within adversity’s storm – encouraging the strength of a calm and unyielding heart.

In peace, my loves…
